CATALOGUE DESIGN

If you have a design in mind then we can recreate it as close as possible for you. Alternatively (the most popular option) is for us to come up with something for you that's unique and interesting. We need to have your logo (a high resolution transparent PNG file) and your corporate colours (we generally get out the logo). Then let us know if you need a cover page or index as well. Next we'll create a demo for you that has a sample of your products and we can refine it till you're happy with the result. And there you go, it's ready for production!

Please remember that the design needs to be structured in a logical and repeatable way. It's quality is only as good as the supplied data and images. Also keep in mind that there are certain limitations to the PDF document itself, such as we need a solid colour behind images and there's no transparency there. This is a technical limitation of the PDF engine and we can work arround it in a number of ways. It's simpler than it sounds and we'll guide your design.

Also keep in mind the regeneration process will fail if a corrupt image is supplied, etc. The server will throw a wobbly if the unexpected happens and may end up crying in the corner if we're not careful. In this case we can fix the issue and trigger a manual regeneration after the server has had a cup of coffee and collected it's wits. Many years in computer programming has taught me that computers are not as logical as we think and sometimes they just don't like us! :-)

Let us know if you mess up and we can trigger a manual regeneration. Mistakes happen and even the best laid plans go south sometimes. We'll gladly help you if you need or have an emergency.

LOAD SHEDDING AND TECHNICAL ISSUES

Please keep in mind we're subject to the normal nonsense when it comes to load shedding, cable theft and technical issues. We will do our best to catch up after things like load shedding. As for technical issues, our hardware is very reliable but there's always a chance of something going south unexpectedly. If the worst happens, then we will manually trigger the processing as soon as is possible within reason.

FINAL DOCUMENT SIZE

The final size of the PDF document depends on the complexity and the quantity of images you need to use. So far we have not hit any limit to file size or image count, but keep in mind the file size grows rapidly and it may end up bigger than what is actually useful, if you have a space or data constraint.
